As a warm undertone Autumn, it’s so tricky finding funky dresses that suit my colouring. This morning I was browsing the Jaeger website after attending their press launch at Bond Street yesterday, and fell head over heals in love with this dress! The antique gold studs give it an edgy vibe, and the nipped in waist would so work with curvy figures. Might have to take another trip back to the store soon to spend my press gift card…
Grazia spots Find My Style client!
We were very excited to hear that one of our client’s Tara had been street spotted by Grazia Magazine’s style hunter the other week! We love Tara’s eccentric look and the way she has combined the fabric patterns for maximum impact. The secret of her look is that she knows what works for her body shape, as she will tell you, it is all about ‘the v’s'! Also the crop jacket and the belt emphasis her waist and natural curves, which is so on trend for this season. Go Tara! To check out the original, click here.
How to be noticed…at Fashion Week
Ever stuck on how to stand out for a special occasion? Well Find My Style recommends that you take a tip from this photographer that we saw at London Fashion Week earlier this year and add some colour to your outfit. In a sea of black and dark colours that generally envelop the UK dress code, you will be guaranteed to attract attention!
Find My Style for a festival: SGP Day 2
Day 2 of SGP and we give you…Captain Wonderwoman!!! In keeping with the fantasy theme, we came up with this concept for Sam as we wanted a versatile outfit that went from fun day wear to glam party wear. For the daytime outfit we used -
Captain’s hat: Vintage
Earrings: New Look £3
Tie pack: Primark £4
Wonderwoman outfit: Sam’s own
Trousers: Ailsa – bespoke
Wonderwoman obviously needs a glamourous party look for her evenings out so we kept the same trousers and earrings, and just added:
Hat: H&M £4.99
Top: Ailsa – bespoke
Find My Style for a festival: SGP Special
Festival season has arrived, and Find My Style is in full festive swing…Tuesday this week was spent on a frantic visit to Oxford Street to find outfit’s for Sam’s visit to the Secret Garden Party. Since we were on a budget we raided H&M for possibilities, we clicked this snap of her ‘Global Rescue Package’ outfit for the first day. The concept was sun and power sources, outfit was as follows:
Multi-coloured shades: H&M £4.99
Hard hat: From an environmental march, free!
Top: H&M £.4.99
Skirt: Raz’s contribution to Swap and Bop, free!
Leggings: Primark, Sam’s own
Wellingtons: Borrowed from Natalie, originally from e-bay
Jacket (in case of the rain!): Primark £13
Accessory: power lead (to act as mic/phone/general randomness)…
Watch this space for day 2!!
Trashion Show BFW
Absolutely love this image! Was busy coordinating backstage at the Trashion Show for Brighton Fashion Week last night and just saw Eddie Hecht’s picture of the bridal wear part – stunning! The show’s designer Jez Eaton makes all the outfits from everyday objects, they are pure genius in terms of the creativity. Who would have thought of using rubber gloves to make a wedding dress?! Fashion Against Aids
Quite excited about my new H&M scarf from their Fashion Against Aids collection, which I picked up in Stockholm over the weekend. Although fashion and ethics don’t always mix well, I think they have found the perfect balance in this colourful scarf. Love the pink and orange colour combo, as well as the mix of digital, leopard and aztec inspired prints – it’s a great way to add a summer vibe to even the plainest outfit!
Selfridges Oxfam Curiousity Shop
Took a trip to Selfridges Oxfam Curiousity Shop yesterday, and discovered the cutest Nick & Mo jacket among the rails! It’s a vintage piece that has been refashioned from various tweeds, and we just love the attention to detail with the puff sleeves and big lapels. Today we styled it up with a vintage inspired brooch form Miss Funkystuff‘s new collection and put an eye-popping top underneath to complement the summer’s sun! There’s only a couple of days left till the Selfridge’s Oxfam Shop closes tomorrow so may sure you pay it a visit!
Cath Kidston
Yesterday evening Find My Style popped into the Cath Kidston shop in Spitalfields in search of the perfect birthday present. Not only did we find exactly what we were looking for but we were also captivated by the cute style of the shop assistant who served us. With her cool tone colour palette she was working the underwear as outer wear trend in a sweetly innocent style. The florals and lace mix reflect the fantasy trend while balancing perfectly – we love it!
